Casey Affleck Apologizes For Being Unprofessional

Casey Affleck recently issued an apology for his unprofessional behavior on sets of I’m Still Here (2010).Associated Press was told by him that his behavior and that of others were not reflective of professionalism. Two female members of the film’s crew which Affleck directed sued him for sexually harassing them. The allegations were denied by him and settlements of lawsuits were done outside the court. He gave statements saying that the situation was regrettable and embarrassing and hard to handle.

Actor Joaquin Phoenix, also part of the mockumentary, was seen professing and launching a musical alter-ego. Affleck also produced the project. He said that he’d take full responsibility for everything that had happened on the set.

Amanda White, producer, and Magdalena Gorka, photography director, were the two ladies who filed the complaints. They accused Affleck of making them highly uncomfortable with unwanted advances and constant sexual innuendoes. The accused later said that he regrets his involvement and contribution in and to the matter as also he regrets having let other people do the same.

Casey Affleck, who is the younger brother of superstar Ben Affleck, turned down a role of a presenter at the recent Oscars saying that it was the correct thing to do. Manchester by the Sea (2017) had won Casey the Oscar for best actor. The 42-year-old Hollywood star was supposed to give away the award for best actress this year.

Jodie Foster and Jennifer Lawrence took his place and gave away the award to Frances McDormand. He told Lindsey Bahr that the best thing to do was to let two brilliant women give the award to yet another incredible woman. In his first interview following his withdrawal from the 2018 Oscars, he said that he needed to just keep quiet and listen while addressing the concerns that the #MeToo movement brought to light. Affleck spoke up about the unimaginable torture and suffering that women have been through while no one batted an eye, he included until few strong women decided to raise their voices. He’ll be seen alongside Robert Redford in The Old Man and the Gun, which will be the final film of Redford’s acting career.
