Carnival looking to bring its largest ship to the Canaveral Port


A largest ever ship by the world’s largest cruise line will be brought to the Port Canaveral terminal. This Miami based Cruise Line had an agreement with the authorities of Canaveral Port on Tuesday in order to bring their new 5286 seated passenger cruise ship to Canaveral Port terminal. The details related to the arrangement for this are not disclosed yet. After the approval, Carnival will start constructing the biggest ever ship at the port which will help them to become the largest operator from Space Coast.

Already, Carnival owns 3 year-round cruise ships which are sailed from Canaveral Port, transporting over 650000 passengers every year. Port Canaveral is going to add a new ship named as Carnival Breeze in October. This growth has been successful due to the construction of new terminal worth $150million at the third Terminal. The construction of two storey, 188000sq.ft. facility is in progress and is expected to get completed by year 2020 with the arrival of new ship.

Christine Duffy, Carnival CruiseLine President, said that they have long term schemes for Canaveral Port. He added that, the company is very excited to port their largest cruise at the Port Canaveral, which is their loyal business partner since 25 years. Along with its accessibility from all locations, the friendly staff and excellent facilities makes Port Canaveral the most famous and most-emerging homeports.

The new ship’s construction will start in November & will end by 2020. It is going to be the only ship running on natural gas from North America, Carnival said. Canaveral Port is the busiest port after Port Miami throughout the world. The CEO and Post Director, John Murray told that they have successfully built a partnership with Carnival from over two decades. He added that the commitment by Carnival will check their confidence for working with the world’s popular cruise brands.
